Shepherd Community Foundation works with other nonprofit organizations and community initiatives to help initiate, orchestrate, find funding and resources to encourage education and help impact underserved peoples and communities.

4th of July Spectacular

Since 1992, this free event has seen as many as 55,000 people in attendance. The event brings the community together and encourages training for youth leadership and community service.

Light Up the Night

“The largest event of its type in America!” – Department of Children and Family Services

An event that celebrates children in our foster care system and local shelters. It is an invite-only festival that provides an amazing night for these kids.

Features: gaming console giveaways, massive toy giveaway, great food, beautiful 55′ Christmas Tree, festival music, personal blanket giveaway, petting zoo, 115ft obstacle course, snacks & refreshments, stormtroopers, train rides, snow (bubble snow), and Christmas movies playing on the plaza.

Toy Drive

4,500 Toys Collected in 2023

All toys that are donated are given to the foster children at Light Up the Night or other various shelters that house and serve underprivileged children.

Community Fall Festival

This event has seen as many as 7,000 people in attendance. We provide a free, safe, fall event for children of the community and their families.

Features: giveaways, great music, petting zoo, pumpkin patch, games, rides, 115ft obstacle course, attractions, face painting, balloon twisters, trunk or treat, candy, and more!

Transition Aged Youth

Scholarships are provided to young adults who have aged the foster system for the Global Leadership Summit. GLS is the largest leadership experience in the world and will fuel inspiration, recharge their vision, and trigger intentional action to never stop learning.
